dear diary,
I think I've forgotten how to do nothing.
There is always something that could be done. Something to finish, something to practise, somewhere to be, something to improve.
Even when there isn't anything particularly urgent, I somehow manage to find a reason to fill the silence. A video. A book. Music in the background. A list of things I should probably be doing.
And sometimes I wonder what would happen if I simply stopped trying to make the day useful.
Maybe doing nothing isn't actually wasting time. Maybe there is a difference between being bored and being at peace.
There are moments when I like having nowhere to go and nothing I have to accomplish. Sitting by a window. Listening to whatever happens to be playing. Letting my thoughts wander without needing to turn them into a plan.
Perhaps that is something worth learning: that a day doesn't have to be memorable to matter.
Some days can simply be lived.
