The Brownies

Rich, fudgy and wonderfully simple. The kind of brownies that deserve a permanent place in the recipe box — and probably disappear faster than you'd expect. ♡

Homemade brownies
warm from the oven ♡

♡ these are the brownies I make when I want something chocolatey without making the whole kitchen complicated.

♡ you'll need ♡

175 g butter

2.5 dl sugar

3 eggs

2 dl flour

1.75 dl cocoa powder

1 tbsp vanilla sugar

A pinch of salt

♡ how to make them ♡

1

Preheat your oven to 200°C and line a baking tin with parchment paper.

2

Put the eggs and sugar in a bowl and mix them together with an electric whisk. Mix until you have a fluffy egg mixture.

3

Melt the butter either in the microwave or on the stove. Once the butter is about 90% melted, pour it into a separate bowl and add the cocoa powder. Gently fold until evenly combined.

4

Combine the chocolate mixture with the egg mixture and whisk again. Add the flour and mix until you've got a smooth batter with no visible flour clumps.

5

Pour the batter into the tin and bake until the edges are set but the middle is still slightly soft.

6

Let them cool before slicing. Or don't. I'm not judging. ♡

♡ little tip

The most important part is not overbaking them. The centre should still have a little softness when they come out of the oven — they'll continue setting as they cool.

the brownie rule

If you're standing in the kitchen waiting for them to cool, you've already waited long enough. Cut yourself a corner piece. ♡

Best enjoyed warm, with a cup of tea, a glass of milk, or absolutely nothing at all.
